Bringing AlterCOP to Japan: Empowering local communities in Tokyo with science-based collaborative workshops

After a successful edition in 2024, The AlterCOP Global Core Team is delighted to have brought back AlterCOP's vision to Japan in 2025 with Ichigo Bloom to empower local sustainability action and partnerships.
After a successful giant Climate Fresk for AlterCOP 29 in Tokyo in 2024, we expanded the discussion to other environmental challenges.
This session has been a collaborative, playful, inspiring afternoon where participants were able to learn together, as teams, about the climate crisis, biodiversity collapse, plastic pollution, and the impact of digital technologies. They were also be invited to adopt a systemic vision, with the concept of planetary boundaries.
Facilitated by trained volunteers from the Ichigo Bloom collective and based on workshop formats developed in Europe based on collective intelligence, this event was open to anyone willing to learn while having fun.
Students, professionals, and the general public were all welcomed to join this unique session, with or without prior knowledge on sustainability.
