AlterCOP 2026 Theme: Building Bridges, Catalysing Change

We are excited to present our central theme for this year’s edition of AlterCOP:

“Building Bridges, Catalysing Change.”

Building Bridges represents the bridging of the two official COP summits, alongside our commitment to fostering connections across all stakeholders, and between Climate and Nature, the two sides of the same coin to enable a resilient and thriving planet. By creating spaces for open and inclusive dialogue, we aim to bring together diverse voices to collaborate and share solutions. In such challenging times for Climate Action, we also believe that Building Bridges is of utmost importance to help communities, practitioners and committed citizens realise the work still to be done.

Catalysing Change is about turning conversations into outcomes. At AlterCOP, we believe climate discussions must be grounded in local reality, informed by facts, and focused on measurable impact. By sharing knowledge, confronting real-world challenges, and championing collective action, we aim to accelerate progress beyond the conference room. Through knowledge sharing, partnership, and collective action, AlterCOP serves as a platform where connections become commitments, and commitments become change.
