This session asks how prepared we are for urban heating in the Klang Valley? What can be done to maximise our ability to mitigate this?

To provide an evidence-based response to these important questions, The Habitat Foundation funded research by Think City to map the urban heat island effect in the Klang Valley. Using Land Surface Temperature data from satellite imaging covering a 30-year period, we now have compelling insights into specific patterns and trends. These will be released for the first time at AlterCOP30.

In this session we will explore how government agencies, NGOs, academics, urban planners, and city officials can work together to translate these insights to meaningful and impactful policies and actions.
